Season 8 might not be the end

TV Squad had a chance to sit down with Scrubs creator Bill Lawrence, and they learned some very interesting things.

First, season 8 might not be the end.  However, it’s almost certain that Bill will be gone, along with Zach Braff.  One possibility is that they’re wanting to continue the show in the style of ER, with cast members rotating in and out.  That could explain the new interns that were brought in — will they groom them to be the stars of season 9?

Regarding Bill and Zach leaving the show, Bill had this to say:

“I would imagine it’s my last year of the show. And so I’m going to write it as such (like it’s the last season) and he’s going to act it as such.”

It’ll certainly be a different show without Zach, but it’ll be interesting to see what happens.

Scrubs would not be worth watching without the amazing acting ablities of Zach Braff. Without JD scrubs wouldnt be scrubs, without JD there would be no Turk or Elliot or Carla or Perry or anyone. Zach Braff is the fondation of scrubs without him there is nothing to watch but another stupid hospital sitcom.

    Screw that.
Scrubs is NOTHING without Zach or Bill.
    NOTHING.
The ratings will go down by a mile.
    How retarded is that.
Isnt it enough that they’re taking away one of the best things on tv but I mean having new interns ruin it?
Why not just let it end in a way where everyone wants more.. not retarded interns trying to run a tv show.
    JHEEZ.
    :/

In all honesty *yes im posting late* i wouldnt mind seeing an interns show, minus the ed character he just annoys the piss out of me (altho he was fired and hopefully wouldnt return) Jo aka Dr. Mahoney *sp?* kate and sonya *sunny* would make for a great show, as long as turk and cox showed up now and again (obviously elliot being in the synopsis saying shes actually moving in with JD whos moving closer to his son means she probably wont show up much) it would be good to atleast make a pilot episode for the interns to see how itd fair (the webisodes dont count).

i dont know maybe ill just miss scrubs i guess, i mean ive watched it since i was 13 and pilot episode My First Day aired, after 8 years i hate to see it go, its quite easy to form “bonds” with the characters learning jds new life lessons each day that he yearns for from cox.

the only thing i hated about season 8 thus far is maddox courtney did a fantastic job, and her and janitors little run in was COMICAL but maddox itself was a failure JD and Elliot was inevitable, from season 1 we all knew theyd end up together, well all i got to say now is thank you Scrubs for making me stay in when i should of been out playing (sincere btw not a joke thanks) and giving me one of the biggest laugh induced stomache cramps of the century

Yeah right! Anyone that says that scrubs will be nothing witout J.D. are down right ignorent. Shure he did a good job but if J.D. was never there in the first place scrubs would still be scrubs! It’s all about Janitor and Dr. Cox! They MADE the show what it is! John C. McGinly is a pimp and makes all of what he’s in an instant hit!

Zach Braf isn’t as good as everyone says he is, that’s why they were ready to let him go and trying out new people to be him when he requested more money like an idiot. Don’t get me wrong, I loved the show with him in it. Scrubs was a MAJOR part of my life and always will be. If scrubs turns all drama then I probably won’t watch it anymore. Season 8 finale was simply beautiful and I will always remember all the good times I had and always will have watching SCRUBS.

    Cheers!

I agree that it is entirly possible that the show could continue, and continue well.

But in my opinion, they should let Scrubs die peacefully, not burnt at the stake by ratings!

If most of them are leaving (especially Zach), then let it go; maybe in the future it can be revived, but not now. Let it go.

Leave it at this, J.D made scrubs, the relationship made between Cox and turk was pretty much the point and reason for watching.

I dont care about the actor im talking about the character, anyone could have done Zach’s role. 8 Seasons was great, the last episode was devastating mostly because all my friends kept the ending from me due to me loving it so much…

    Just leave it at this…
